Recreate art project

Before Christmas we got a selection of recycled materials from Recreate in Dublin . Recreate provides free art and craft materials and they are all things that would normally just be thrown in the bin. We used things like strawberry storage boxes , spindles that would hold cotton and expensive off cut materials to make these nativity cribs. We had great fun making them and we hope Mr Russell goes back soon to pick up more materials for our next project.

Science in a box

Here are a few pics from a recent science class where we used a lemon to light up an led light , cool or what!!! Our instructor is called Shauna and she is a student at Trinity College , we all think she is really intelligent.  Every week we get to learn about new things in science, we love doing experiments.Science is Kwll !( this means cool in our text code )

Dance class

Before Christmas our class got the chance to learn some new dance moves with a great teacher called Marianne. We loved the group dances where we had to invent our own routines. Our favourite music to dance to was Juju on the beat !

Trip to Leinster House

Last week our class went on a trip to Leinster House which is where  all the important decisions of the country are made by the government. We were given a special guided tour by a nice usher called Padraig, he told us how Michael Collins bought the house for 10000 euro. We got to visit the Dail chamber and the beautiful Seanad room. We were hoping to meet a local minister but unfortunately she was too busy. Our tour ended with a look at an original proclamation . We would recommend this tour to all classes but unfortunately it is closing soon for a two year renovation project.

Emma in our class prepared well for the big semi final in the gaa league recently by having a nice cup of tea!  The class had a good laugh at her colour coordinated irish flag outfit. The tea must have worked because the girls won their match and are looking forward to a final next week.
